Cape Cod Hockey Tournaments- 1/2 Ice Rules

 

REGULAR TOURNAMENT GAMES:

1. All games will be played using USA Hockey rules with approved divider boards. USA Hockey Rules will govern the play of all tournament games. Coaches should inform all players, parents, and spectators that USA Hockey Zero Tolerance rules will be enforced. Any parent or Spectators displaying inappropriate or disruptive behavior may be removed from the rink. VERBAL/PHYSICAL ABUSE OF GAME OFFICIALS, TOURNAMENT STAFF, SCOREKEEPERS, AND RINK STAFF WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE EXPULSION FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE EVENT. NO ABUSE WILL BE TOLERATED.

2. One and one half (1 1/2) minute buzzer.

3. Games will be played 4 on 4 with goalies using cross-ice size nets, not full size. Blue pucks will be used at all Mite Levels.

4. The game times will be 22:30 minute halves, with a 2 minute warm up, and a 2 minute break at the half.

5. All four skaters must come off the ice at the end of their shift. There is a minimum of eight skaters and one goalie per team. Teams may “pull” their goalies for the final (1:30) one minute, thirty second shift to add a fifth skater, however, the fifth skater must finish the game regardless of goals scored.

6. NO TIME OUTS.

7. There will be one official per game. Face off after goals, no face off at tie-ups.

8. There will be no icing or off-sides. Penalties will be called. The player will be sent to the bench and immediately replaced. The player must sit off the rest of that shift and the following 1:30 minute shift.

9. Ranking Teams : Teams will be awarded points as follows: 1. Two (2) points for a win: 2. One (1) point for a tie: 3. Zero (0) points for a loss. In case a team must forfeit, the forfeiting team will lose by a score of 3-0.

10.Tie Breakers (other than Championship game): Teams will be ranked within their tournament division by the total number of points obtained. In the event of a tie, ranking will be determined as follows:

● Head-to-Head -Total Points -The results in the games played between the tied teams. Note: If a team defeated the other team that they are tied with, they will be ranked ahead of that team.

● If more than 2 teams are tied, one team must have beaten the other teams they are tied with to advance;

● Least goals allowed;

*Most goals scored;

● Coin toss, with the home team calling the toss in the air.

CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES:

● If teams are tied after regulation, there will be one (6) six minute, four vs four, period.

● PULLING GOALIE IS NOT ALLOWED IN OVERTIME.

● If game is tied after overtime period, there will a coin toss, with home team calling toss in the air
